Beware: Shared Hosting Environments

Too many people are unaware of just how vulnerable they are when they are using shared hosting environments, wordpress, plugins, third party scripts, and not following standards in their own development environments.

Sadly… too many people think “security” is simply updating wordpress and plugins or is something that someone else has responsibility to do for them. Nearly every day I see people who get hacked treat it like wiping up a water spill rather than taking real precautions to secure their business and identifying, and resolving the root issues.

Below is a shocking example… the company below did web development for “hundreds” of internet businesses as well as developing and marketing wordpress plugins. They were also a “shared” hosting provider:
