Likes UP: Majority of Valentine’s Day Restaurant Searches Were Mobile

It is rare that the two hats of The Liking Authority and The Love Linguist are shared: one head, two hats!

Because liking when it comes to love and liking when it comes to technology and social media are usually different conversations.

But this year technology and love intersected on mobile devices.  That’s what Google reports.  The Majority of Valentine’s Day Restaurant Searches Were Mobile, in fact 62% which is very high.  So when it comes to love, and probably at the last minute, reservations for restaurants for a lovely date were done on mobile phones and devices.

Mobile makes up 62% of popular restaurant related searches on Valentine’s Day.

Clicks-to-call increase for last minute flower searches.  Smartphones also helped save the day with last minute gift givers. Mobile searches for flower-related terms grew 227% from February 7th to February 14th in the US.  On Valentine’s Day, the urgency to find flowers increased as more mobile searchers clicked on a phone number
